悉尼萬眾矚目的燈光節（Vivid Sydney）剛剛落幕，墨爾本的小夥伴們也將迎來一個閃亮的節日 —— Lightscape Festival。
Lightscape燈光節最初在英國舉行，曾在17個不同的地方巡迴展出，隨後在美國舉行。因COVID-19疫情暌違兩年後，終於在今年來到墨爾本。
夕陽落山後，夜幕降臨時，墨爾本皇家植物園（Royal Botanic Gardens）的霓虹燈便如同守時的春花齊齊盛綻。近2公里長的燈光景觀、披著霓虹燈藤蔓的無花果樹、亮眼的人行道和由10萬多盞小燈組成的「冬季大教堂」（Winter Cathedral）都是本節日的看點。

以前皇家植物園通常到下午5點30分就會關門，如今關門時間更改，以便讓遊客欣賞夜幕下種類多樣的植物、目不暇接的彩燈及大多數市民未曾見過的風景。
「（花園）以前通常在晚上關閉，所以能看到所有美麗的樹木閃閃發光是一種享受，真的非常、非常神奇！」 皇家植物園的創意製作人Kara Ward說。
據《時代報》消息，Ward還透露：「你將在旅途中經過維多利亞國家標本館（National Herbarium of Victoria），這是植物園內從不對公眾開放的建築，也是我們精英科學團隊工作的地方。」
該燈光節可謂群英薈萃，主辦方聘請各路專家相助，有些專門確保園內野生動物和植物在活動期間免受干擾，有些則為節日設計及製作裝飾。
Kathy Holowko是為該節日特別創作的三位本地藝術家之一。他建造了一個巨大的植物壓機，用於製作四個金字塔形的燈籠。
她在製作時使用了標本館植物庫內的標本，其中有些是經晾乾或壓制的標本，甚至可以追溯至19世紀。
傍晚華燈初上時，燈籠將照亮植物園，遊客甚至可以看清楚樹葉的脈絡。
原住民藝術家Mandy Nicholson專門負責繪製插圖，講述國家、家庭和原住民精神的故事，其畫作將投影至植物園周圍的不同位置。
其中有對澳洲殖民化前殘存樹木的投影，Nicholson繪製的美麗膠花將被投射至樹上。Ward形容說，這麼做會在某種程度上重新詮釋了樹木。
另一處看點則是維州鮮為人知的標誌Epacris Impressa，即石南的圖像。
大家也不必發愁在旅途中餓肚子，因為現場有餐車、奶油布丁車、香料酒（mulled wine）、尼格羅尼雞尾酒（義大利語：Negroni）、披薩、烤乾酪辣味玉米片和漢堡等，應有盡有。
墨爾本Lightscape將在6月24日至8月7日舉行。
