10月12日，英國著名男子偶像團體，渴望樂隊（The Wanted）成員湯姆·帕克（Tom Parker）在個人社交平台Instagram上宣布了自己患有無法手術的四級（最嚴重的）腦腫瘤。

Tom發文說道：「我和我的家人在社交媒體上沉默了好幾周，現在該告訴你原因了。雖然很難說出口，但可悲的是我被診斷出患有腦腫瘤，而且我已經在接受治療。」他還寫道：「我們都被徹底陷入困境，但是我們將一直堅持下去。我們不想要您的悲傷，我們只想要愛和樂觀的心態，我們將共同提高對這種可怕疾病的認識，並尋找所有可用的治療方案。這將是一場艱苦的戰鬥，但是在每個人的愛與支持下，我們將戰勝這一挑戰。」

Hey guys, you know that we』ve both been quiet on social media for a few weeks and it』s time to tell you why. There』s no easy way to say this but I』ve sadly been diagnosed with a Brain Tumour and I』m already undergoing treatment. 13日，英國《OK!》雜誌表示：「Tom患了無法醫治的腦腫瘤，他叫他的粉絲給他足夠的愛心和樂觀的態度來應對難關。」 同時，Tom在採訪時表示，當醫生告知他得了腦腫瘤第四級時，他一時之間很難接受這個消息。「這就好像任何人隨時都會發生意想不到的事情。」同時他表示，會為了懷孕的妻子和孩子一直奮鬥下去。

據了解，Tom和他的妻子Kelsey 已經結婚兩年，家庭美滿的他們還有一個1歲的女兒。而預計在11月Kelsey 會生下他們的第二個孩子，Tom突然診斷出腦腫瘤，對於整個家庭來說無疑是晴天霹靂。

據悉，The Wanted，中文名渴望樂隊是英國著名男子偶像團體，團體組建於2009年。希望把自己標榜成特立獨行的流行，即在通常的流行中加入搖滾、和獨立樂隊音樂的元素。簽約環球音樂旗下。2010年7月5日發行了出道單曲《All Time Low》，這支單曲第一周就一舉拿下了英國單曲榜的冠軍。首張專輯《The Wanted》於2010年10月25日發布，並達到英國單曲排行榜第四名。隨後，於2011年07月10日發行專輯《Glad You Came》，並憑藉同名歌曲登上英國UK單曲榜首位，成為冠軍。 2012年初，渴望樂隊的單曲《GladYouCame》在美國和加拿大熱銷300萬張，並拿下告示牌百強單曲榜第三名和兩個加拿大百強單曲榜。2014年1月22日，團體宣布在巡演後解散，但將來仍可能再次一起工作，而據相關報道稱,組合中的Max和Nathan已經開始單飛。而據The Wanted組合聲明,The Wanted將繼續存在,只是不會像之前那樣頻繁出現。
