澳洲2016年推出高考HSC教學最大改革，關係到每個家庭。可能到現在還有很多家長對此不清楚，有些讀者打電話來詢問。這裡，我們再次借「澳洲生活網」，為您理出要點。
一、閱讀、寫作、算術全國考試，成績需達到Band 8：
2016年7月19日，NSW Minister for Education, Adrian Piccoli在Cherrybrook Technology High School宣布：中學生必須通過基本閱讀、寫作、算術全國考試，達到最少Band 8（最高成績Band 10），才能最後取得HSC高中畢業文憑；否則，只能拿初中畢業文憑RoSA/Record of School Achievement。
具體規定是：從2017年開始，9年級學生2017年5月9日-11日三天進行全國NAPLAN統考，閱讀、寫作、算術成績必須達到Band 8的標準 (Students in Year 9 from 2017 will be able to meet the standard by achieving Band 8 in NAPLAN in reading, writing and numeracy.) 。
公布的2017年NAPLAN考試NSW九年級學生的成績通過比率為：
- Reading：有55%通過；
- Numeracy：有54%通過；
- Writing：最差，只有42%通過。
綜合起來，有68%的學生明年需補考。
根據2016年數據：有78%的NSW九年級學生無法達標。所以，以後的7年級、8年級、及9年級學生也得好好讀書，起碼最基本的測試你得爭取過；不能像以前,有的學生靠在10年級、11年級、12年級的打拚，覺得前面如果沒用功好像關係不大。
針對沒達標的學生，政府也想好辦法了：從2018年開始，10年級、11年級、12年級學生繼續在網上進行讀、寫、算測試，有多次補考機會；如果到12年級結束時還是無法通過考試，還有5年機會繼續考。什麼時候過，什麼時候拿高中畢業文憑（From 2018, an online literacy and numeracy test will be available for students to demonstrate they have met the standard）。這好像跟精英中學的學生關係不大，也許只有5%的最差學生要小心。
二、科目高考大綱改革
2016年7月21日，Tom Alegounarias (the President of Board of Studies) 先生公布英文、數學、科學、歷史最重要17門科目高考大綱改革草案，向社會徵詢公眾意見。計劃方案通過後，給予老師一年的緩衝期執行：2018年起，11年級學生開始使用新大綱；2018年10月開始，12年級學生增加「科學延伸Science Extension」科目。2016年讀9年級的學生開始使用新大綱。

數學會怎麼變：
大家比較關注的數學變化，將注重抽象問題的實際應用：所有的數學課程都將教授統計學，並引入個人金融理財知識；2單元的數學課程會更艱深（In maths, there is a new focus on teaching its practical applications for abstract problems by introducing personal finance and statistics at all levels, including extension maths. At the highest level, Extension 2 Maths is expected to become more complex.）。
建議：
2018年的9年級學生，趕緊買幾本書準備，先通過全國統考：
