10月12日，英国著名男子偶像团体，渴望乐队（The Wanted）成员汤姆·帕克（Tom Parker）在个人社交平台Instagram上宣布了自己患有无法手术的四级（最严重的）脑肿瘤。

Tom发文说道：“我和我的家人在社交媒体上沉默了好几周，现在该告诉你原因了。虽然很难说出口，但可悲的是我被诊断出患有脑肿瘤，而且我已经在接受治疗。”他还写道：“我们都被彻底陷入困境，但是我们将一直坚持下去。我们不想要您的悲伤，我们只想要爱和乐观的心态，我们将共同提高对这种可怕疾病的认识，并寻找所有可用的治疗方案。这将是一场艰苦的战斗，但是在每个人的爱与支持下，我们将战胜这一挑战。”

Hey guys, you know that we’ve both been quiet on social media for a few weeks and it’s time to tell you why. There’s no easy way to say this but I’ve sadly been diagnosed with a Brain Tumour and I’m already undergoing treatment. 据了解，Tom和他的妻子Kelsey 已经结婚两年，家庭美满的他们还有一个1岁的女儿。而预计在11月Kelsey 会生下他们的第二个孩子，Tom突然诊断出脑肿瘤，对于整个家庭来说无疑是晴天霹雳。
